Webinar recap: Science as a guiding light: Good practices in STE(A)M
On July 29, 2025, the Foundation for Management and Industrial Research successfully hosted the first webinar in a new series of NIH webinars within the STREAM IT project: “Science as a guiding light: Good practices in STE(A)M”. The webinar was tailored for educational and research institutions, civil society organizations, and especially for girls and young women interested in pursuing careers in the STE(A)M fields.

The main goal was to inspire girls and young women to recognize and develop their potential in STE(A)M by promoting gender-inclusive career paths, increasing the presence of talent in STEM sectors, and enhancing the attractiveness of STEM professions for future generations.

Topics Covered in the Webinar
- Science as a guiding light in personal and professional development -An exploration of how scientific thinking and careers in science contribute to individual development, supported by inspiring stories and examples from the guest speaker to encourage young people, especially girls
- Good practices in STE(A)M – Presentation of successful initiatives, programs, and mentoring practices that promote gender equality, build confidence, and motivate young women in science and technology
- Scientific achievements from space and their application in education and everyday life – A look into how knowledge and technologies from space research can be adapted for use in education and in solving everyday challenges

Our guest speaker, Martina Dimoska, founder and president of the International Space Alliance (ISA), shared her extensive experience in science and space research, motivated and inspired all participants.
Through practical examples, useful advice, and real-life experiences, the webinar showed participants that STE(A)M is not only within reach — it’s a dynamic and exciting path worth pursuing.

The Foundation for Management and Industrial Research remains firmly committed to promoting gender equality and inclusion across all sectors and is already working on new activities that will contribute to fulfilling this important mission.
