Webinar – European Masterclass- Empowering women in industry: Entrepreneurship as a catalyst for change
Within the framework of the EMPOWERING project, which aims to enhance the knowledge and provide support to millennial women in industrial sectors, this European Masterclass offers an inspiring and practical space to explore how entrepreneurship can contribute to women’s empowerment, innovation, and leadership.
Although women in industry still face numerous barriers to advancement and remain underrepresented in innovation-related roles, an entrepreneurial mindset—whether applied within companies or through new ventures—serves as a powerful tool for overcoming these boundaries, building self-confidence, and creating inclusive industrial ecosystems.
In this 60-minute online session, Prof. Thomas Cooney, a leading European expert and advisor in entrepreneurship education and inclusive entrepreneurship, will share valuable insights into how entrepreneurial thinking can transform the role of women in industry.
Through European experiences, international research, and real-world examples, the session will showcase how upskilling programmes such as EMPOWERING can strengthen women’s innovation, participation, and leadership in the industrial economy.
Participants will:
• Understand how entrepreneurship acts as a driver of empowerment and inclusion for women in industry.
• Gain insight into policy and educational practices that effectively foster women’s entrepreneurial capacity.
• Reflect on how organisations and industrial ecosystems can support women’s leadership and innovation.
• Identify practical actions and mindsets to promote inclusive growth within their own institutions and communities.
