Webinar recap: Women in science and safety – personal experiences and a roadmap for future generations
On September 19, 2025, the Foundation for Management and Industrial Research, within the STREAM IT project, successfully hosted the webinar “Women in science and safety – personal experiences and a roadmap for future generations”, as part of the National Inspirational Hub (NIH) webinar series. This fourth webinar was aimed at educational and research institutions (primary, secondary, and higher education), civil society organizations, as well as girls and young women interested in the STE(A)M fields.
The main goal of the webinar was to highlight the crucial role of women in science and safety, to shed light on the challenges they face, and to emphasize the opportunities available to them in Macedonia and beyond.
Topics covered during the webinar:
- Women in STE(A)M – An overview of the current situation, challenges, and potential for development in these fields
- Best practices from radiation safety and the STE(A)M sectors – Presentation of projects and activities that inspired and motivate girls and young women to engage in science and technology
- Inspirational stories and personal experiences – shared examples from working with young people, serving as encouragement and guidance for future generations in building careers in science and safety
Our guest speaker was Biljana Atanasovska from APPLE TREE – Association for Advancement, Support, and Sustainable Development of Women, who shared her expertise and delivered a strong message of encouragement and support for women in these industries.
This webinar proved once again that the inclusion of women in science and safety is a key step towards building an inclusive and sustainable society, and that inspirational examples and personal stories remain the strongest motivation for future generations.
The Foundation for Management and Industrial Research remains firmly committed to promoting gender equality and inclusion across all sectors and is already working on new activities that will contribute to fulfilling this important mission.
