Gabriela Kostovska Bogoeska, executive director and Emilija Andonova, programme manager from Foundation for Management and industrial research took part in The STE(A)M ATLAS Three roadmaps. One destination conference, held in Brussels, Belgium, representing the POLICY ANSWERS project. The event was organised by the Group of the European Youth for Change (GEYC), in close collaboration with the European Commission.

The STE(A)M ATLAS brings together three EC funded roadmaps to STE(A)M Education. The roadmaps champion complementary approaches to support a holistic approach to teaching and learning where STEM, Arts, and non-STEM topics are fully integrated for an immersive and meaningful learning experience.

SENSE. SENSE. proposes alternative pathways into inquiry processes, fostering social imagination and spatial literacy as key components of a roadmap for new science education in Europe. It provides a roadmap to a transformative approach to pedagogy and a participatory model of policy-making that brings together the public with practitioners, Museums, industry professionals and policymakers. SENSE.’s STEAM approach has been implemented across SENSE.STEAM labs in 13 European countries, and its STEAM Academy provides ready-to-use learning companions, guidance, assessment instruments, and policy recommendations.

The SEER. The project supports collaboration and coordination among key stakeholders such as school leaders, teacher trainers, industry professionals and policymakers. Its Roadmap aims to enhance the capacity of these actors to initiate and drive change in STE(A)M education through actionable recommendations and tools including the Impact Assessment Mechanism and the foundations for a STE(A)M certification framework.

Through their active involvement, the MIR Foundation—as a key partner in POLICY ANSWERS—will ensure that the insights, tools, and co-designed policy solutions emerging from The STE(A)M ATLAS are further disseminated among relevant institutions, civil society actors, and decision-makers in the Western Balkans. These contributions will be embedded into ongoing policy dialogues, capacity-building efforts, and collaborative frameworks across the fields of research, innovation, education, culture, and youth.

Moreover, this engagement supports POLICY ANSWERS’ broader mission to facilitate systemic transformation by connecting policy processes with real needs on the ground, empowering underrepresented voices, and building bridges between governments, academia, youth, and civil society. The involvement of young professionals and experts in high-level regional initiatives such as this is essential to developing sustainable, innovative, and future-oriented policy ecosystems.

The POLICY ANSWERS project—funded by the European Union under Horizon Europe—is committed to advancing evidence-based, participatory policy making across the Western Balkans.
